Good communication is the communication that results in a common opinion among the perpetrators. Effective communication is important in organizations because it will make the organization grow and prosper. Organizational leader as communicator must be able to convey the intended messages to the communicants (employees). The message must be fully understood by employees. If the message is delivered properly, then the communicant will provide feedback to the expectations of communicators. This study aims to determine employee attitudes towards the effectiveness of communication in the office environment of Kebon Sei Berlian PT. Perkebunan Nusantara V Riau. The sampling technique was a total sampling of 60 respondents. Data collection was carried out through literature study and questionnaire distribution. This study uses the Multi Attribute Model (MAM) model to determine employee attitudes towards the effectiveness of communication in the Kebon Sei Berlian Office PT. Perkebunan Nusantara V Riau. The results showed that the attitude of employees towards the bulletin boards in the company environment was underutilized. Employees consider the success of communication that occurs between communicants and communicators. So far, the information conveyed by employees to superiors and coworkers has not experienced problems so that communication is well established.
2024-04-30T00:00:00+00:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://insaniah.umk.edu.my/journal/index.php/insaniah/article/view/185 Challenges and Opportunities of Media Education in The State Universities in Sri Lanka 2024-05-06T06:59:56+00:00 Galagedarage Thushari Madhubhashini gtmad@ou.ac.lk
Media education was introduced to the Sri Lankan university education in 1973. The Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) and the in-depth interviews were conducted to collect data of the study. The results show that there are some challenges and opportunities in curriculum, teaching methods, assessments, technologies related to media education. The opportunities in media education are indroducing several special degree programmes in mass communication/media studies by the newly established media/communication departments, covering a wide range of areas in communication discipline in the curriculum, introducing some resources and infrastructural facilities to facilitate the undergraduates etc. On the other hand, limited expansion of the discipline of mass communication/ mass media within the university system, limited post graduate studies, most of the courses in Sinhala and Tamil, heavily concentrated on theoretical aspects in the curriculum and assessments, non-availability of the text books, media instruments and tools, teachers without professional practice, training and research, non- availability of opportunities in the media industry etc. are the main challenges in the media education in Sri Lanka. Therefore, the state universities should take necessary actions to address the challenges in media education specially to cater to the requirements and needs of the media industry in Sri Lanka.
2024-04-30T00:00:00+00:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://insaniah.umk.edu.my/journal/index.php/insaniah/article/view/245 Penilaian Kurikulum Bahasa Jepun Berpandukan Standard Common European Framework of References for Languages (CEFR) di Universiti Malaysia Kelantan 2024-05-06T06:59:56+00:00 Nurul Fatihah Hanapi fatihah@umk.edu.my Yasmin See yasminsee@uitm.edu.my Wan Yusoff Wan Shaharuddin yusoff.ws@umk.edu.my Tg.
2024-04-30T00:00:00+00:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://insaniah.umk.edu.my/journal/index.php/insaniah/article/view/254 Exploring Racial Discrimination in Popular Culture in English Language Classrooms 2024-05-06T06:59:57+00:00 Nazima Versay Kudus nazima@uitm.edu.my Wan Noorli Razali wannoorli093@uitm.edu.my
Today more and more youths are engaging themselves online and making use of media content such as popular culture for personal development. Popular culture, which is also known as mass culture or pop culture, refers to collection of behaviours, values, and artefacts that are dominant or predominant in a society at a given time. This includes popular music, print, cyber culture, sports, entertainment, leisure, fads, advertising and television. Among the various genres, popular music represents a type of popular culture that has strong appealing power. The death of George Floyd has triggered the Black Lives Matter movement not only in the US but also elsewhere in other parts of the world. The question is, is there any avenue where such an issue can be addressed ‘responsibly’ without silencing others under the pretext of sensitivity? Can language classrooms provide a conducive and safe environment to address this? Therefore, this study has two objectives; first is to establish and evaluate students’ general perception of the Black Lives Matter movement, racial discrimination experiences and interest in pop culture via Google Forms. Next, this paper also wishes to investigate the content of popular music whether they contain relatable and useful materials to address delicate issues like racial discrimination. Beyoncé’s “Black Parade” and Alicia Keys’, “A Perfect Way to Die” song lyrics are chosen for content analysis. Both the statistics and analysis can help one to understand what the respondents think, evaluate the nature, meanings and relationships of certain particular terms, themes, or concepts and design suitable learning activities for meaningful learning experience.
2024-04-30T00:00:00+00:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://insaniah.umk.edu.my/journal/index.php/insaniah/article/view/268 Exploring the Utilization of Indonesian Language Among International Students in Bilingual Education: An Analysis of Pedagogical and Cognitive Strategies 2024-05-06T06:59:57+00:00 Refa Lina Tiawati e20e027f@siswa.umk.edu.my Azman Bin Bidin azman.bidin@umk.edu.my Suria Baba suriabb@umk.edu.my
The present research examined the pedagogical and cognitive strategies employed by an Indonesian teacher to enhance the use of the Indonesian language among students in her bilingual class. The study was conducted within the framework of a linguistic ethnographic design. The researcher conducted an observation of the teacher's classroom, documenting observations through the use of field notes. The observation was guided by the framework established by Schwartz and Asli (2014). A semi-structured interview was administered to gather insights into the teacher's viewpoint and difficulties encountered while instructing her bilingual class. The predominant strategy utilized by the teacher was translanguaging within a sentence, with gesture being the subsequent technique most frequently employed. The utilization of a translation methodology was infrequently employed. Notwithstanding the implementation of pedagogical and cognitive methodologies, the educator faced two hindrances: (1) pupils who communicated in English instead of Indonesian and (2) challenges in allocating time.
2024-04-30T00:00:00+00:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://insaniah.umk.edu.my/journal/index.php/insaniah/article/view/256 Konsep Hakimiyyah dan Pengaruhnya Terhadap Gerakan Terorisme Dalam Kalangan Muslim 2024-07-11T04:14:48+00:00 Wan Ji Bin Wan Hussin drmaqasid.syariah@gmail.com Burhan Bin Che Daud burhan@umk.edu.my
Gerakan terorisme dalam kalangan Muslim wujud dengan pelbagai nama seperti Boko Haram, Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) dan sebagainya.
2024-07-11T04:10:14+00:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement##
